Everton move to land biggest signing yet under Dyche’s reign.

Everton’s summer transfer window hasn’t exactly been a thrill ride for fans under new owner Farhad’s leadership. With Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, and Mark Travers the only new faces so far, David Moyes is growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of signings.

As the Premier League season looms just around the corner, The Friedkin Group face a crucial decision. Moyes needs to bolster his midfield, and Everton are eyeing Southampton’s Tyler Dibling. However, they’ve also got their sights set on Douglas Luiz, a box-to-box midfielder who’s been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside.

According to transfer expert Fabriziano Romano, Juventus are aware of three Premier League clubs in direct contact with Luiz’s camp. Everton and Nottingham Forest have been discussing his availability, and now it’s up to Juventus to make a decision. Given the Italians’ desire to sell Luiz, and his recent dip in form, it’s unlikely they’ll get the £34.5m they paid for him.

This could give Everton and Forest room to negotiate. Luiz would be a massive coup for the Toffees, bringing much-needed quality to the midfield. He was instrumental in Aston Villa’s Premier League campaigns, and his arrival would help Everton challenge for a top spot.

With interest from top-flight rivals, the race for Luiz is an opportunity for The Friedkin Group to make a statement. If they can secure his signature, it would show that they’re serious about competing for big signings and building a team that can challenge for real. The question is, will they take the plunge and invest in Luiz, or will Moyes have to make do with other options?
