Glasner Finds Silver Linings in Palace’s West Ham Defeat, refuses to be disappointment

August 24, 2024

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has refused to let disappointment cloud his judgment, instead opting to focus on the positives from his team’s 2-0 loss to West Ham United in Saturday’s fiercely contested London derby.

A Glimmer of Hope

Despite suffering their second consecutive defeat, Glasner remains buoyant, pointing to the fact that his team “were at least on the same level as the opposite team” and created a slew of scoring opportunities. “We played okay, maybe not at the top level, but we created chances and situations,” he noted.

Room for Improvement

Glasner acknowledged that his team’s inability to capitalize on scoring chances and concession of “easy” goals in transition proved costly. However, he remains steadfast in his belief that Palace can turn things around with hard work and determination.

A Tribute to the Fans

The manager took time to praise the unwavering support of the Palace faithful, saying, “Thank you to the fans for their support. Even after the 0-1 and 0-2, they pushed the team, and we tried everything.”

Looking Ahead

With the Carabao Cup match against Norwich on the horizon, Glasner is eager to put things right and secure a much-needed win. “I hope that on Tuesday, we have the togetherness again, and then we try to get the turnaround,” he said.
