🎙️Reveal: Leicester City attacker Abdul Fatawu shares heartbreaking message after Liverpool defeat

Leicester City fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in midweek, with Adbul Fatawu watching on from home.

Leicester City were not expected to get anything out of the tie but did take an early 1-0 lead via Jordan Ayew.

However, they could not take their lead into the break, with Cody Gakpo firing the home side back on level terms one minute into first-half injury time.

The Reds dominated from there, with Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah adding goals in the second 45 to see Leicester lose 3-1 to Liverpool.

The Midlands outfit had a couple of notable names missing from their squad for the loss, including Jamie Vardy, Mads Hermansen and Abdul Fatawu.

Abdul Fatawu message after Liverpool vs Leicester City

Injury updates on Vardy and Hermansen have since been provided by Ruud van Nistelrooy post-Liverpool.

The latter looks set to be absent once more when the Foxes take on Manchester City on December 29th.

Vardy, meanwhile, could return to action against the Sky Blues after sitting out the defeat to Liverpool.

One man who will not feature, however, is Fatawu, who was injured on international duty last month.

Now, following Leicester facing off with Liverpool, the winger has taken to Instagram to share a heartbreaking message on his story.

He wrote: “Sometimes we just pretend that is okay but it really hurts I miss what I love doing already”.

Abdul Fatawu injury return date

The 20-year-old was playing well for Leicester prior to his injury and is now facing a very lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The exact return date for the Foxes star is not yet known, but former manager Steve Cooper provided an update on Fatawu on November 21st, confirming he will be out for the remainder of the season.

He said: “To happen at such a young age is a blow for him and a blow for us as well”.

Jordan Ayew has primarily filled in for Fatawu in his absence, with Kasey McAteer also being given more minutes out wide.
