Carragher also highlighted the importance of Palace’s full-backs providing more defensive support. “The full-backs are getting caught out too easily, and that’s leading to goals conceded. They need to be more aware of their positioning and provide more protection to the center-backs.”
Furthermore, Carragher emphasized the need for Palace to improve their set-piece defending. “They’re conceding too many goals from set pieces, and that’s unacceptable. They need to work on their organization and marking, and make sure they’re not giving away cheap goals.”
Despite the defensive issues, Carragher praised Palace’s attacking potential.
“They’ve got some fantastic players going forward, and they’re always going to create chances. But they need to find a balance between their attacking flair and defensive solidity if they’re going to start winning games consistently.”
Glasner will be aware of the challenges ahead, but he’ll also be encouraged by the team’s spirit and resilience. “We showed great character to come back from 2-0 down, and that’s something we can build on. We’ll keep working on our weaknesses and look to improve our defensive record.”
As Carragher succinctly put it, “You can’t win games with a leaky defense, no matter how many goals you score. Palace need to plug the gaps and find a way to keep clean sheets if they want to achieve their ambitions.”
With a tough run of fixtures coming up, Palace will need to address their defensive issues quickly if they’re to start climbing the league table. But with the right approach and a bit of luck, they can turn their season around and start achieving their goals.
