Solanke, who signed from Bournemouth for a record fee, was introduced to the crowd before Spurs’ friendly match against Bayern Munich on Friday, but did not feature in the game. However, Postecoglou believes the striker has a good chance of starting against Leicester, citing his pre-season experience with Bournemouth.

“I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t be ready to start,” Postecoglou said in his post-match press conference. “He’s played most of the pre-season for Bournemouth, and we’ll have a look at him during the week. But considering he’s done most of the pre-season, I see no reason why he wouldn’t be available.”

Solanke’s arrival has bolstered Spurs’ attacking options, and Postecoglou is excited about the prospect of pairing him with Richarlison, who is nearing full fitness after recovering from surgery. The Brazilian forward has been a key player for Spurs, and his return will add depth to the team’s attack.

Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski impressed in the No. 9 role against Bayern, scoring twice, but Postecoglou hinted that he will revert to his attacking midfield position once Solanke and Richarlison are fully integrated. Kulusevski’s versatility has been a valuable asset for Spurs, and his ability to play in various positions will be crucial in the upcoming season.

In other news, Lucas Bergvall had a scare in the second half when he needed treatment for a throat issue, with Postecoglou revealing that the player may have swallowed a bee. The incident highlighted the unpredictable nature of football, and Bergvall’s quick recovery will be a relief for the team.

Spurs’ defense was breached three times from dead ball situations, a worrying trend that Postecoglou acknowledged, but he emphasized that the team is still gelling and will be ready for the new season. The manager has been working on strengthening the team’s set-piece defense, and it will be a key area of focus in the coming weeks.

The North London club has nine days to prepare for their Premier League opener against Leicester City on August 19. With Solanke’s potential debut and Richarlison’s return to fitness, Spurs fans will be eagerly anticipating the start of the new season.
